Introduction: Snake Catcher

About: My LED (I mean flashlight) Gummies profile photo is inspired by the LED Throwies.

A simple tool to lasso a snake which you can either let go or kill.

SUPPLIES
-About 4-5 feet of PVC pipe
-Thick nylon rope

HOW IT WORKS
Apparently because this device does not give off any heat, the snake can't detect it. Thus the brave soul can move it over a raised snake head.

As you pull the rope the noose tightens, pulling the snake toward the end of the pole, tightening the noose. Then it's up to you what happens with the snake!

This very Snake Catcher you see here caught a big rattlesnake recently.

(Cojones not included.)

Step 1: Make Noose

1) Slip about 6 feet of cord through the pipe.
2) Make a classic slip knot (sorry I can't instruct you but it's easy and well documented elsewhere).

Test that the knot works: When you pull the rope from the other end, the noose should tighten.

ALTERNATE WAY: My esteemed fellow Instructablers have a good suggestion to double the rope so you can loosen the loop to let the snake go.

As long as your rope is stiff and thick enough to make it easy to push through the pipe, that makes good sense! Thanks all.

Step 2: Knot the Pulling End

Make a big fat knot along with a loop to hold on to, so the rope from the other end can't be pulled through.
